No, there is no yellow fever in South Eastern Asia. On the other hand, inoculation may be required if you stayed in a risky zone before entering Thailand (like Brasil or Guyana for example). Please go to health page.

» Is an anti paludism treatment required in Thailand ?[home]
It depends where you go to in Thailand. Pls find here after advices according to your travel plans during your stay in Thailand :

Bangkok, Chieng Mai;, Pattaya, Phuket and country center : No paludism risk here. So, you don't require medicine. A simple vectorial anti fight has to be done (fight against other diseases transmitted by mosquitos)

Koh Samui (Samui Island) and south of the country : paludism risk due to plasmodium vivax. Medicine is required (SAVARINE ® treatment is enough).

Border zones to Lao, Myanmar (Burma) and Cambodia : Resistances against LARIAM ® force you to use DOXYCYCLINE ® or MALARONE ® in those zones.

Chieng Raï, Golden triangle and Kwai River zones : LARIAM ®, DOXYPALU ® or MALARONE ® for long stay only or night spent in the forest.

For classical conducted tours, no medicine required except if you spend one night in Chieng Raï or close to Kwai river. In all cases, you have to take anti vectorial protection measures and contact your doctor if you have any doubt when back home.

LARIAM ® DCI : Mefloquine
MALARONE ® DCI : Atovaquone + Proganil
SAVARINE ® DCI : Chloroquine + Proguanil
DOXYPALU ® DCI : Doxycycline

No, even in big towns. Drink only water coming from sealed bottles opened in front of you.

» Can I bring my animal with me to Thailand (dog, cat) ?[home]
Yes, but you have to follow rules : Usual inoculations must be up to date and you must get from your veterinary doctor a health certificate established on a special form, dated less than 7 days before departure. (To reenter your home country, your pet should have its european passport (check with your veterinarian) Thai Airways accepts an animal in cabin (small animal only, check the maximum weight with the company) in a special bag (special measurements, sold by companies in airports for example) as long as you get the agreement from the company when booking your ticket (as they don't accept more than 2 or 3 animals per flight). So don't forget to ask for agreement and a written confirmation from the company when booking your tickets.
